Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs are evidence-informed strategies designed to prevent and interrupt youth violence, particularly among young people aged 13 to 24. These initiatives address the complex, interconnected factors that contribute to violence—including trauma, systemic inequities, poverty, limited educational opportunities, and exposure to community violence.

At Homies Unidos Denver, our CVI work includes mentorship, leadership development, life skills workshops, mental health support, after-school programming, and culturally responsive outreach. Programs such as youth leadership circles, entrepreneurship training, music and arts production, and healing-centered peer support empower young people to build resilience, strengthen connections, and make positive life choices.

By combining trusted relationships with evidence-informed strategies, Homies Unidos Denver helps youth reduce involvement in violence, cultivate leadership, and contribute to safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.
